Where do I find my engine seriel number?

 

if you look at the drivers side of the engine there is a white sticker on the plastic cover. at the top left you will see engine number and an 8 digit number follows, that 8 digit number is your engine serial number.

I have an '01 24 valve CTD. I registered with the site you spoke about here but my only problem is that the sticker you refer to is not on the engine, so I cannot find my engine number. Any other suggestions on how to find the engins number or what it might look like?

for your 01 look at the front of the valve cover, it should be there.

the sticker I refer to is on the 03 and on engines.

 

Drew, Filled in the form and got a window that says need state and county and there's no place to put them. Went to their "help", and filled out another form and they"ll e-mail me back. 100 miles onthis now and the computer shows 18.6 with no additives. I live in Brookings, OR, a small town on the coast, so no long runs yet. When I fuel, I'll hand figure MPG. Thanks.

 

i have an 02 2500 4x4 and there is a sticker on the drivers side of the valve cover but it has only 5 digits. Any suggestions?

for older cummins engines, the engine no. is on the data plate on the driverside of the front cover. You want the Engine No. not the engine family.
