I just joined the family and I would like to find a Cummins book for dummies. This web site is fantastic but I would like some additional reference info. Any recommendations?

Drew is our resident oil burner knowledge base....and he's provided some good stuff as stickies in the Diesel section where you posted this. If you look up along the top, you'll see some marked off posts at the top. These are "stickies", meaning they are at the top of every page in the Diesel section.
