Default Help on oil

How do you get your oil sample? The guy at amsoil told me not to get it out of the filter.

the filter is the worst place to sample from, lots of bad gunk there.

the best way is though the dipstick tube. there is a kit that you can buy that includes the hand pump and tubeing the correct size to stick down the tube.

when you measure the tubeing make sure to cut it about a foot longer then the dipstick, then mark the length of the dipstick so you know not to go much past that line.

I have had to pull oil pans cause people unwraped 6 feet of tubeing and stuck it all in, wrapped around the crank and knotted up. couldnt pull it out.[:@]

Where can i get that kit? Everwhere i checked told me to just get some small tubing. I hope i didn't mess up my sample, i just loosened the drain plug and let run alittle and got it there. I got the tubing put it will only go part way down.[ it has about 6in. left to go]
