Default 95' Ram 6 cyl. Problem

Hi all,

I have 1 1995 2500 Dodge Ram Diesel inline 6. Recently it started having a "weak" turn over so I thought it might be the batteries or the alternator. I had both batteries tested (while in the truck still) and it also tested the whole system (alt, starter, batteries, etc.) and the guy at Autozone siad everyuthingi is as it should be: no problems. But the truck still turns over slowly and weaker than it did a week ago. Any suggestions?

Another prob: (sorry):

Ever since I onwed the truck (200,000 miles on it), whn I get up to highway speeds and set the cruise (even when I don't set the cruise) the engine (or tranny?) revs up and down. The RPM tach goes up and down, stays for awhile, then up and down repeatedly. I have no idea what this could be.

Thanks.

sounds like you have a main grounding wire problem. I would suggest replaceing it.

I have actualy seen cars in the past where everything working fine, but the engine wouldnt turn over, ended up being the main battery ground was going out and couldnt handle the amp load for the starter.

with the revving at highway speed, sounds like the torque converter is slipping. when was the last time the tranny fluid was changed?

Changed the fluid and filter (not a whole fluid exchange) about 3-4000 miles ago. Why wouldn't the tourque converter slip at all speeds though? Thanks for the input also, I'll check that wire.

it does lock up in 2nd 3rd and OD. I dont know why I didnt think this but your clutch packs could be going out as well.
