Default Another fuel problem?

Hey everybody, 01 5.9 auto 175000k-- Almost everytime I shift from park to drive or drive to reverse etc.. my truck dies. I have to pause in neutral or rev the engine a little to keep this from happeneing. Took it to the Diesel guy here in Anchorage- he said there were no fault codes and he couldn't duplicate the problem, But he suspected the boost pump was failing. He then wanted me to by the tank mounted lift pump to see if it goes away. Could this be a speed sensor prob??? I replaced both the lift and boost pump last summer, I cant afford this *%^*& again!!!. Anybody had this problem ??? Thanks

There are several ways to check the lift pump rather than buying a new one a seeing if the problem goes away. I'd get a new mechanic.
