I bought a 2" leveling kit for my truck. I went to Wally World today and bought some deep sockets b/c I don't have any, and I even bought jack stands so that I don't kill myself, lol,. I was wondering if anyone else has put these on, and if so, how much trouble was it. I decided to do it myself b/c a shop is gonna charge me at least $150 or more I'm sure.

 

wasnt any trouble at all only took the dealer like 2 hours...

IT'S REALLY SIMPLE TO PUT ON A 2" LEVELING KIT. THE HARDEST PART WAS REMOVING THE SPRING AND SHOCKS. I WOULD ALSO GO TO AUTO ZONE OR ANOTHER PARTS STORE AND BORROW A SPRING COMPRESSOR. IT MADE LIFE SO MUCH EASILER TO REMOVE THE SPRINGS. I THINK I SPENT ABOUT THREE HOURS DOING MINE.

did mine earlier this year... you will need a spring compressor and you MAY need to remove 1 end of the tracbar. I used 2 jacks to put mine in, took me about 3 hours. you will need to remove the swaybar links (just disconnect them) so you can move the axle enough to get the springs back in.

I assume you have a spacer kit...?

 

I have been thinking about adding a leveling kit to my '06 as well. Could you post a before and after pic?

I just installed one on my truck a couple of weeks ago. The 2 things I found out was in order to get both springs out and in without a spring commpressor I had to remove the passenger side track bar bolt and then the passenger side dropped down without a problem. I also had to remove the outer tie rod end to drop the drag link down to so I could get a socket on the passenger side bottum shock bolt. Just some info you might want.

what kind did you buy I was thinking about getting one. there is a ton of them available didn't know which one is a good one to get. I know the kore is a good one but I wasn't looking to spend that much money. I've seen a couple on ebay for around $100. they are the metal ones I would like to stay away from the plastic.
