It's official, she is home -Now with pic's
Picked her up last night. Considerably larger than my Tundra, and I am all ready loving the diesel. I ordered a Roll Back bed cover ( http://www.rollbak-tonneau-covers.com/ ) and an Edge EZ this morning. I'll pick up a K&N air filter sometime this week. Going to be breaking her in on a trip to PA next week. Round trip should be 1500 or so miles. Then she gets a bypass filter system and synthetic oils.
I'll post pics, as soon as I have them. By the time I got home it was dark.
Later,
Steve

yea, lets see some pics.
also, wait untill you have atleast 20K before switching to synthetics. synthetics actualy delay the break in process. also wait on the bypass untill you put the synthetics in. it takes a while for the rings and bearings to seat and wear in on a diesel. I saw a 5.9 from a 94 that was haveing the head gasket replaced a while back, cylinder walls still had the cross hatching, rod bearings looked brand new and were still well within factory specs with a mic. The truck had over 750K and was used as a tow rig for a toy hauler. guy said he got a little frisky with her going over a mountian pass pulling 14K doing 75 trying to keep up with some chick

Specs:
2500 Quad Cab, 5.9, 4X2, Patriot Blue, with the Big Horn package. A little cheezy but nothing major.
Drew,
I don't have a problem with cross hatching at 750K. In fact I kind of like the idea of a truck with all most a million miles, and it's not quite broken in yet. But I will wait until my last "freebie" from the dealer, on your recomendation.

I hope you dont live in the country. My wife reminded me last night why i wanted the 3500 in 4x4. I had to pull her out of a little mud with my 4x4 HEMI. I finally got to tell her "I TOLD YOU SO". that was not a good thing to do!!
never the less awsome ride and you should love it

you may want to re-consider the K&N... from my forum research, there have been problems reported from some users that re-oiled their filters that saw the turbo drawing the oil out of the filter. THIS IS ONLY WHAT I READ you should do your own research.
my recommondation would be the AFE filters, a pro guard filter is the best they have. if you get the large 6" inlet filter, be prepared for a mpg drop and a nice boost in the upper rpms.

Thanks for the advice on the K&N.
Country? I guess that depends on what you consider country. I don't think we are out very far. Some of the people my wife works with think we live in the corn fields.
The pic's I have are too large. Right now I'm too stupid to figure out how to resize them. I'll try and figure it out tomorrow.
Good night,
Steve
