Default ECM update for better Mileage?

I searched here to see if this has been talked about. I heard from a friend that there is an update for the ECM mapping that gives 1-2mpg's.

Anyone know of this?

Thanks,

Ben

that depends on what year truck you have. if your overhead is WAY out, you have white smoke at start-up, or flat spots in engine performance then the flash is out there and it does give a little better mileage.

#2, do a google search on the Rokk Tek crank sensor. this little guy will advance the timeing of the injectors by about 2* giving you a little better bottom end, slightly better fuel mileage, and a cooler running engine.

hope this helps.

they are $70 bucks and take about 2-5 min to install

check it here

not be warned though, if you add a performance box that adds timeing you will get poor performance from too much timeing

Hey Drew...

I just got and installed a Banks Boss Hoss tuner for $250.00. This helped with the performance but not really sure about the MPG yet. Will this unit you are talking about work with the tuner or will it be a waste of money and time to get?
