Default 1990 electrical problem...

I have a little electrical problem with my truck that i hope someone can help me with. I was leaveing for work this morning when i got half way down my driveway and my truck died. I lost gauges and radio. I still had my headlights, taillights, gauge backlights, radio backlights, and interior lights. So it seems to me that my ignition switch might have gone bad as everything the key has control off failed. I went to jump my fuel shut off solenoid so i could get the truck back up to my house and the radio came on along with all the functions i had lost. I realized that i was using the second tab on the solenoid so i was sending voltage back through the first tab and the wire that was supposed to activate the solenoid. If anything is confusing which i'm sure it is i'd be glad to clarify. If anyone has any ideas to help me out with my problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx alot!!
David
