Hi ! i´m just about starting my 2005 5.9 L engine swapping project...i´m installing an ´05 24V 5.9 305 Hp with 6 spd + 4 x 4 manual into older custom car hauler truck and like to find out all troubles which i´m about to meet with PCM and engine wiring. IS THERE ANYONE HOT RODDING THESE PCM´S AND ENGINE WIRES???

I have a complete all new "takeout " engine and trans package from Ram 3500 4 x 4 which was in accident during shipping from factory to dealer and i was hoping to find some company which would take off all not so necessary things from my pcm and engine wiring, or if there is someone out there who has already swapped this kind of engine/ trans package, what kind of problems has he met in his project? what kind of modifications are needed to pcm and wires to make them stand alone in older truck?

I highly appreciate any help and advices, i live in Finland(almost in nort pole...) and in here anyone does not know anything about these 24 valve engines and pcms...

hell yeah there are upgrades... your motor should be a 325 hp motor if it came out of an '05 check out these links...

HI! Thank You for those links, couple of them i already knew, but there was also some new ones for me. i hope that some of You who have done this earlier would post Your comments considering this kind of engine swap, -biggest troubles etc...
btw, -from where i can check that is my engine 305hp or 325hp? - which numbers should i look for from engine?

there would be a sticker on the drivers side of the motor, on it there will be either 305 or 325 hp.

I dont know of anyone who has done this swap so I cant add to it, sorry. my suggestion is get the service manual (merry christmas thread at the top of this forum) and look at the wiring & pcm layouts to find the best way to splice it into your project.
