New Diesel powered speed record
Figured more Diesel heads would be interested in this than anyone else. The JCB Dieselmax is now the fastest Diesel ever run on the Bonneville salt flats course.
Diselmax breaks 300mph
And next week (barring nothing going wrong) that will be an FIA world speed record for diesel power.

A couple things stuck out after reading about there car (mostly about the engine). A few key words that are very familiar to us were used to describe there engine(s).
1. Common rail
2. Bullet proof
The thing that was really interesting was there race engine produced approx 150HP / liter of displacement. The real kicker is that this comes from a 4 cylinder!
Freakin wicked!
Even though there run came from using 2 power plants it is still amazing.
We can however still lay claim to the fastest streetable diesel truck record set by Banks (125HP / liter) using our beloved CTD!

heck the banks truck they drove out there with a trailer behind it then got setup in race trim and made a run. I have even talked to banks they actually drive the truck to mc donalds on occasssion. thats awsome a former diesel speed record truck driven around town to pickup so fast food. in my opinion that banks truck still has the JCB's daddy
