Hello, I am a New Diesel owner 06 cc, sb, 4x4, 6 spd, 3.73. I have already dropped in a replacement K&N, Aero turbine xl, and an edge juice with attitude. My question is, has anyone tried the hot unlock code yet or even heard how the 160 horse setting runs. I am very mixed on if it is worth the $100 to purchase it I do not drive the truck very often on setting 5 as it is but would like a little more performance out of it. Any comments would be great.

I have the juice w/attitude and havent considered the upgrade, my torque converter and tranny cant handle much more than the 60~70 hp I get out of the edge before they start slipping. those 2 items need to be swapped out to be able to use the updated programs on a regular basis. i'd assume your tranny would have an issue at some point. there are upgraded clutch packages that you can get to hold the power better.

 

I talked with my mechanic about upgrading mine, he say's that Iam walking a fine line with the trans as it is, any more power would do it in alot quicker he said, he says its a great deal for more power but I need to beef up the trans alot first...I know...it's not the answer I wanted either![8D]

 

Even the manual will not hold up better then the auto? What kind of upgrades are we talking for the manual? Also has anyone heard of a short throw shifter for the G56 yet?

 

when I put my TST to the +75hp(3) +120tq(2) setting my stock clutch begins to have a problem holding, but only in the upper RPM's. Ive done some playing around with the higher HOLY CRAP settings of 5 and above and just a blip of the throttle and the clutch no longer holds. if you need a better clutch check out South Bend Clutches

now why do I say this in this thread, as soon as you start putting down big numbers, the stock clutch just aint gunna hold.

my box does 35horse on setting 1 and 20 more 2-9, and will increase torque 60ft-lb starting at 1-9, so you can see how much power this bad boy can produce
