I'm brand new to this forum and and have really failed at finding and awnser with the search engine.

I have had my 96 ext cab 3/4 ton w/cummins since new, lately my voltage gauge flies up to around 16-18volts, it will stay for a few minutes then go down, I have checked and rechecked my batt connections, even replaced both batts, still does it once in a while, p.lease help, I am planning a long fall triop and I hate to go with this happening. This ever happen to you guys, ? please help.
thanks in advance

I'd have the alternator load tested, and check your voltage regulator. Sounds like something is gettin ready to crap out.
