has anyone pulled off the resignator off a 2006 diesel?
has anyone pulled off their exhaust restrictor just before the muffler to reduce back pressure and get better sound? If so would you please tell me how she sounded and performed after the removal of this cathletic converter type device. Did fuel milege improve also with this off? Thanks for your help.
yes, mileage went up but i think it was going anyway still breaking it in. definatly louder if i could do over i would probably leave it but live and learn.
thats no resonator, thats the catalytic converter. depending on where you live there are inspections of vehicles and they look for it, in my area there are emmisions testing for gassers, but not diesels
anyhoo, if you have inspections it would be good to leave it, or you could pull it off, punch the stuff out and put it back on which makes it look like you still have the cat there. Mine ran away completely

Thanks, I don't have to worry about inspections here in Wisconsin but how loud did this make your truck? Fuel Milege, power, etc... Thanks again. Chad
no fuel mileage or power increase, however with the windows rolled down there is a noticable difference, wondows up, sounds stock.
Did the 24V 99's come with a Catalytic Convertor? I thought that Cat's weren't put on Dodge CTD's until 2003.5. I replaced my whole exhaust system and tossed what I thought was the resonator ????? We do have inspection here in NJ.......
I'm unsure of the emissions inspections for NJ, I'm pretty sure you can find the info online at the state site that deals with that. Weither or not 99's came with one or not I'm unsure, some years had them, some didnt. 03-04.4 didnt have them, however starting in 04.5 with the 600's they did.
