Default mileage

I need some help!!! I have a friend who also has an '06 mega cab almost identical to mine (minor differences) I am getting awesome mileage (22 mpg with a bed full of wood live oak and its heavy) unloaded he is only getting 10 to 13 at the most one time he got 8. He has changed out his filters fuel, oil, and air to no avail. we are at wits end it does go into the shop next week to see if anything is wrong with it but any advice would greatly help. it also has 13000 miles mine has almost 20000 and wish i would have traded my '05 KR dually for it sooner than i did.

How does he drive it? Use anything like the Drew's brew? Could be a lot of things....I have about 2500 on my 06 QC and I'm getting 22.5 hiway and 19 in town with 4" of concrete in the bed to help break it in.

I got my truck one week ago and I get about 18 on this last 100 mile trip.

I like the concrete idea for weight. I thinh I will go out next weekend buy a few bags to toss in the bed.

I'll tell you what when I first got mune I was between 16 and 18mpg 14.5 towing the boat, Intake muffler and chip later, 13-15 and with the boat today 11.2. i am seriously thinking about ditching the muffler and going back to the stock one.

dodgethis, I just threw some chunks of broken up curbing/driveway in the bed. It was free, got it at a new home building site and I can load/unload as I need. If the concrete bags get wet, they harden up real bad. .

Mine has gone from 15-16 to 18mpg on the highway,, in town sucks at 13-14mpg. I now have 10,000 miles on the truck.

I have a water proof container to put them in till I use them around the house. The broken up chunks of curbing is a good idea.
