Default 11.50 rear axle with cummins 5.9L

How does a 11.50 rear axle match up with a 5.9L cummins HO turbo diesel. Is this the axle ratio for the best pulling power, or is this the best axle ratio for fuel milege on the open road?

That's not the ratio, that's the ring gear size.

You have either a 3.73 or 4.10 ratio.

4.10's are a stump puller, but unless you are REALLY pulling heavy you'll just eat up more fuel.

3.73's are pretty much standard and have more than enough **** to move 90% of what most folks will ever need.
