well i was wondering somthing.... my diesel smokes white smoke when we turn it on in the mornin or any time we turn it on after its been sitting for hrs. i want to know if anyone experiences this or that normal? help!

supposedly a little at startup is normal. How long does it smoke? I found this :

Mine seems to blow a little white after every startup. I hate the look of it but not sure if ok or not.

As long as it doesn't stay white, it shouldn't be a problem. It usually indicates water being evaporated, which could be multiple things, but if it's just a quick puff it's probably some condensation. It may have formed in the intake tract somewhere and is just passing through.

If it stays white, then you are most likely getting coolant into a cylinder. That's not fun (i.e. head gasket)
