Default Mileage question

I have a 06 CC dually 4x4 that gets 19 with no load, but with 21500 on it, it dropped to 6.5. I have owned 13 powerstroke fords and none of them have gotten mileage this bad when loaded. I am just wondering if there is something wrong with my truck (4500 miles) or should I just expect to get bad mileage while pulling. On a lighter note, I never had to downshift out of 6th to pull a hill, I just wish the mileage was a hell of alot better. Thanks

first of all how many miles on the truck, the mileage generaly goes up over time.

second what speed are you pulling at. the higher the speed the lower the mileage.

4500 miles is nothing... it will get better the more miles you put on it. one thing that could be suggested is to start using the "Drews Brew", helps some get 1 to 3 mpg better, pays for itself easily. 16 oz of power service diesel (PSD) and 8 oz of Marvel mystery oil (MMO) to each tank. I've heard (i havent towed with my truck...) that 12's is not uncommon for mpg when towing heavy.

welcome to df...
