Default more power?

This may sound weird, or maybe it's just me, but with the new ecm and since I reinstalled the programmer, my truck seems more powerful than before. I was thinking that maybe it has to do with the way its been driven since the new comp., since the comp learns to adjust to your individual driving style. I got the truck back thurs. nite and by sat. afternoon, it was towing a car. I towed that car around town for a day and a half before I got on the highway. I was driving around last nite, and it just seems that I have more power now.

Ive heard of this before, especialy when you download a program. one time it runs like a slug, reload it and the thing is ***** to the freaking walls while hopped up on speed.

I was un-aware of any re-learning on the pcm's part, could it have to do with the torque management on the tranny?

nanh, I didn't enable the tourqe management. I did enable the lowend power, but I had that last time. It's like this time it just seems to have more power. Maybe it's a mental thing since I made that whole trip pulling the load without the programmer,,, then install it and WHAM!!!, it's like a kick in the butt.

I think it is your perception. Every weekend that I tow my camper I get the same sensation after I unhook the camper. If I go out to pick up dinner or run to the store for something it feels like the truck is faster. I think it is just muscle memory. You get used to driving it with the load ( a little more go pedal ). Then your driving empty (still using more go pedal ). Monday morning it always feels normal again.

do you have a CAI? it could be getting plugged. I know on my AFE they say to wait until the mesh screen is barely visable before cleaning and that most people clean too early. I am no where near this point yet and the low end power seems to be getting a bump as time goes on. if I clean it, low end will drop. I saw this exact same thing the 1st time I cleaned it. -just something to consider.
