and the sensor is mounted under the battery tray, look towards the firewall on the front side of the tray. the pic show's it on the DS, there may be one on the Pass. side. it could be that the sensor would be towards the front of the motor if they used the same tray on both sides. anyway, you should see 2 wires coming off a plug on the bottom of the tray. it shows it coming up from the bottom thru the top... meaning you need to pry the whole assembly up and out of the battery tray to gain access to the connector. you could have a bad crimp on it.
one other thing it said was that the sensor is used to assist the pcm in charging the battery. if it's too hot, it'll slow the charge down.

the battery has nothing to do with the sentry key. the battery runs the door lock feature. the key part has a transmitter in it that when paged by the trucks security system sends a code back through RF. the key has to respond with the proper code or the truck will shut off.
I have acess to a transponder test set from time to time here at the shop, I actualy viewed the frequency, modulations and the codeing the key gives off. . .pretty slick stuff. the only thing is it is changeing code that works off a algorithm to keep people from going up to your truck with a transmitter and stealing it.

Food for thought.
Drew said that if the differential between batt and IAT is too great the code would be thrown. If the truck was plugged in all night could the warm coolant have radiated heat to the intake and caused enough differential to cause the code?

I took the truck to the dealer and they said they cleared the code and tested the sensor and all is well. I asked about the five starts with no fails the code should clear. They said for some codes it will and some it wont. Anyways the light is out ( for now). Thanks for all the help.[sm=gears.gif]
