My latest "Lazy Man" mod. Power windows, key or no key.............
Ok, ........... I don'know how things are now, but for those of you who don't live life "Viva La 12valve", here's another setup from way back I never understood.
Power windows. The power windows on my 95' Ram only work with the key in the run position. Every time you do this on a CTD, it would initiate a starter/heater sequence. Pain in the dupa if you had the stereo on as well.
So I took a 10 gauge wire, hooked it from the battery, to a 50 amp, auto reset breaker. The other run of wire went from the breaker, to the rear of the fuse box. I cut the wire that was feeding the window circuit, and spliced my 10 gauge into the fuse box. Works like a charm. I also crimped a "dead ender" on the original power wire.
I decided on a breaker and not a fuse because somtimes the window may get stuck in an icy enviorment. I hold the down button and pound on the window till the ice breaks...lol. A fuse might blow, but the breaker has some forgiveness.
Anyway, it's pretty cool. Windows up or down, key or no key.......... I am curious if the new Rams operate differently than the older models did.
Ok guys.
ADIOS MUCHACHOS!!!

Yeah I hated that on my 98 gasser. It was dumb.
But my 04 isnt like that. The windows work with the key in accessory

yeah the newer ones work in the accessory position. what I dont get is why they cant put the auto up feature in on all the switches for the drivers door. they have the protection technology out there to prevent accidental closures on heads that are sticking out of the window with the ears flapping and the toung dripping...
I'm not sure why they can't do something like GM and make it so you can run the windows and stereo for about 15min after the truck is shut off or until someone opens a door. This feature comes in handy when you don't want to run in the accessory position.
The beauty of it all is the window lock. Valerie REALLY hates when I let one go in the truck. Especially if we are on our way to a party or something. She thinks the smell gets stuck in her dress.
I tell her honey, look at it this way:
1. A black cocktail dress - $80.00
2. Your manicure - $60.00
3. A bag of fluffy green - $100.00
4. The smell of my fart, and the look on your face when it arrives at "La Nostrile"..............PRICELESS!!!!
