im looking into upgradeing my trans here's why at 95k blowed 3 gears out of it then at 150k ripped it up again (nv4500/5sp) it has the upgraded shaftes and so on but with the added power and pressure i put on it it doesnt look like its going to hold want to put 500k + on this truck i no a nv5600 is a pretty strait forward up grade but pricey now that parts are getting had to come buy looked at some autos but i dont like that idea. been looken at maybe a 9 or 10 speed out of a medium duty truck any 1 tryed this i saw 1 done somewhere on the net so i no it can be done ideas

 

Yes it can be done, but you'll probably want to go with a smaller eaton 6plus, or a rockwell 6 speed. You'll have to get the larger bell for the engine and you'll have to do some custom fabrication. Just to let you know, those trans's shift like crap, so if your lookin to race or sled pull forget it.

 

o i no they dont shift well for speed but i work this truck like monday i hauled an oversized load up to indy with it. 10 ft wide 12'9" tall 36,000 an change on the ground so i dont mind it shifting slow. i would also like a lower 1st and reverse thats why i was lookin more into 9 or 10 speeds
