Default EGR Valve blocked for Pac Brake, is there any way to defeat the check engine light code.

I have my EGR valve blocked off with a thin plate so that my Pac Brake will work. Here in California there is no inspection on diesel trucks of 1 ton or less.
Is there any way to defeat the check engine light code, should I jumper the wire to the EGR, or ????? Any suggestions appreciated. (for now I have a bit of black tape over the light to reduce the irritation).

Putting a jumper in won't turn of the light, the computer will then think the egr is faulty and set the light.

Thanks for the info, I will need to figure a way to fool the computer, after all there is a signal that tells the computer the EGR is working, so I just need to find a way to generate the signal to solve the problem. I was hoping someone had already addressed the problem so I would not need to spend time working the fix out.

I would check with Pac Brake. They are easy to work with. They may already have a solution.
