Default Block Heater ?

Its been getting down in the 30's at night, should I plug my truck in all night or does it need a few minutes in the morning? Just seems like its going to pull alot of juice and if its plugged in all night, thats a big electric bill.

I let mine warm up in the mornings for about 10 minutes or so... since I have the remote start (killer!!!) its easy to get it fired up while i'm getting ready to leave.

on the block heater, you could put it on a timer. someone posted a pic of one they got from home depot that was rated to 15amps and I think had multiple settings on it to kick it on at different times. cost him $20 bux.

whoever it was i'm sure will post that pic again after reading this...

it was within the last week or 2 so it shouldnt be hard to find. you could do a search for all threads in the cummins forum with block heater in the subject and it should pop up.

It needs @ least 4 hours on the juice to make a difference...plug 'er in early. I use a magnetic oil pan heater on my motor and tranny, as well.

I plugged in mine for an hour and the block was warm. So I plug in mine when I start getting ready for work.[sm=gears.gif]
