lil help
Do you have a block heater? I plugged mine into a timer($9.75 at Wallyworld) and let it warm up for an hour before I go to work.
How cold is it where ever you are?The CTD's do take a while to warm up.

Usually you can here the fan and feel the power loss. How cold is it there, what mph are you averaging. Here I let it warm up a min or two before driving, avrage mph of 40 and it take about 20 min to warm up from 38F to 190F.

No disrespect but what gives the indication that the thermostat is working properly?
If it's stuck open in any position at all, your motor will be "super cooling". Are you in an area where it's warm most of the day or the temps are dropping with the season? I ask because that can make a difference. Cooler climate and a malfunctioning stat will never allow the motor to get to operating temp.
If you think you have adequate heat coming out of the vents, then I might guess that the temp gauge, or coolant sensor is bad. The Rams do have massive cooling systems. But that thermostat rules the roost....lol.
I am pretty sure you can put an ohm meter across the coolant sensor. You'd have to find out what the values are.
And like Jakebrake said. You'd know if your fan clutch was permanently engaged.........LOL. There's no mistaking the roar.
Just my 2 cents, nothing else.
Good luck.

To check a t stat, drive on an ambient temp engine for about 5 to 8 minutes, get out and measure temp before and after t stat (leave running) if they are close to the same temp, t-stat is stuck open. 03 is that extended life?
