Default Anyone roll on a bedliner?

Need a bedliner and im thinking of doing it myself to save a little $$. I have heard good and bad about doing it yourself. I know 1 person that rolled his on himself about 3 years ago and it still looks brand new. Any suggestions on a brand?

I've never tried it. I've got the stock plastic one that Dodge offers.

Those roll on liners DO look good but I dunno ... something about not having more protecting the bed makes me nervous. I've always had the plastic type liners and I've always been happy. I will say though that THIS liner that I have right now is probably the chinsiest that I've ever had.

I dunno ... the plastic liners have always worked the best for me. Stuff sure does slide in and out a lot better which of coure can sometimes be a good, and also be a bad thing.

Good luck !!

I did it on my '99 Sport. I used the Herculiner, it was fairly easy, the hardest part was "roughing up" the paint so it would stick. I used 2 coatings, and it was pretty nice. If you use tape, you get nice straight edges. You can also "patch" it if it gouges. If you're not hauling a lot of rough, heavy items, it's great.
I recently coated my flatbed with Duplicolor bed liner paint from Advance Auto, and cannot reccomend that product. Very thin, the particles settle out quickly so the coverage isn't uniform, and it doesn't stick very well.

That is why I'm saving my penneys for a Line-X bedliner that way if it chips they have to fix it! That and I don't like the idea of me having to scuff up the bed of my truck and hope what I put on it sticks.

Thats what I am doing, I havent done it yet because the closest Line-X dealer is 40 miles away so I have to make a day out of it. I use my truck a lot and my bed gets used just as much so I need the best and have read so-so things about Rhino. Sucks because there is a Rhino liner about 10 miles away.

I had a Rhino in my 05 1500 and what got me was a lite pice of metal cut in to it from a empty dresser drawer. Being I had it installed in Oregon when i lived there I had to go back to him to get it repaired. Well no way would I do so as it was 3800 miles round trip to get it fixed. That is one of the biger draw backs of Rhino only the installing dealer can or will repair it.

I had a rhino liner in my F-150 and althoUgh it worked pretty well, it wasn't too hard to rip a piece of it from the bed. I put Line-X in my dodge and it's some tough
$%!&. I've been very happy with the line-x and would recommend it over the other.

Drove 90 miles to get a Perma-Tech liner sprayed in last week. ( http://216.28.21.48/Public/Bedliner/...er/index.shtml ) So far I'm very pleased. Aparently Bed Rock is no longer in business and this is nearly the same thing. They "local" guy in Alton, IL is, in my opinion, incompotent at best. He sprayed in my Bed Rock and it looked like crap.

If you do a roll on the important thing is the prep work. Follow the directions exactly and don't skimp or do it quick and dirty. Make sure you get a liner with texture.

Good luck,

Steve

I had mine RHINO Liner blown. Its grreat. Nothing slinds around, no plastic liner to chafe to paint off the bed. If you do do it yourself floow all steps as directed.
