i donk know about injecting propane into the inter cooler, N2O i have heard of, and CO2 but i wouldnt think its such a good idea to spray a flamable gas/liquid near something so hot (the engine)

thats what the propane injection is... injects right into the intake manifold (at least you could set it up that way with my ats) I figure the propane would help burn off all the diesel there and make it more efficient in addition to burning itself up thru the combustion process.

thats the idea, like Drew said propane burns slower than #2 therefore longer and more completely burns the diesel fuel than the fuel can by its self

the question is how long does a tank last? and when does it get injected?

Like Drew has said and TheWizard has repeated... C3 and N2O are power boosts. Farmers have been using propane in their farm tractors for 15-20yrs to get more power to pull larger loads in the field, nothing new. C3 inj setups can be dialed for more or less power, most racers are using both combined with the methanol/H20 inj as well. (Methanol/H20 inj has been used in turbo prop aircraft engines for many years as well) Not going to improve mileage in any respect, simply going to cost you more in fuel costs!
You would be better off chiping yer rig, cheaper and easier to install and you'll have better control of fuel consumption.

just as a point of clearification for me, C3 is the chemical formula for propane right?

yes, BTW, propane is injected before the turbo for best results.

and water meth injection is used mainly to keep EGT's down since it takes alot to heat water.

Doesn't that also increase compression?

Methanol has an infinity for water (gas line antifreeze for gassers, a small amount onces infact works very quickly-a few minutes, even on a stalled iced up fuel system) methanol/H2O inj systems are about 51% H2O and 49% methanol (or other way around, meds haven't kicked in yet) True the water is used to cool and methanol basically to keep the water from freezing. As for increasing compression hardly, thats what the oil and piston rings are for. 25-30yrs ago performance shops were peddling "Water injection" kits for gassers, they didn't get far as the masses didn't believe or wouldn't believe that the water inj would increase mileage as well as performance as we now know. The old guy down the street that bought into the water injection did see better performance/mileage and increased longevity of engine oil as the engine was running cooler, we all know the benefits of cooler engines and cooler air on the intake.
I would be a little leary of running this system as methanol will dry out gaskets/O-rings rather quickly, so ones measurements have to be exact where the methanol is concerned.
