Reverse alarm
Does anyone know a way around the mandated reverse alarm on an 04.5 2500 DC? You know, the one the blows your horn when you back up to a trailer with your door open? Dealer is of no help on this one, claims the Fed mandated it and he won't remove it. I managed almost 2 years without this BS.

How about a line off that which goes to the backup lights, that powers a relay in the wiring to the horn, so that when you put it in reverse, the lights come on and the power to the horn goes off. (unless you think you'll need to honk the horn some time while in reverse...then you'd have to put a switch in so you COULD honk the horn should you need to)
All this seems to be a pain - so I'm learning to live with the honking - and when I forget my cursing is louder than the damn horn anyway!

The reason for the bulbs is to make the computor think the horn are still conected so you don't get a open circut code.

By far the best idea I have heard so far is to simply switch the door pin wires, front driver side with back drivers side. This way everything still functions as it should, its only 2 wires and the only negative effect would be that the honking will still happen if you leave the rear door open but who does that anyway.
that does sound like a reall good idea i think im going to try that on mine the honking drives me nuts
