Default 06 XCase

Hey guys. My buddy just bought a wrecked 2006 Ram 2500 Cummins 6spd. One of the things that we need to replace is the transfer case. I believe that it is a NP271. I'm not sure off the top of my head if it’s a manual shift or an electric but I am thinking that it is a manual. Please let me know if this information is correct or not. I am the parts guy and want to make sure I get the right things. What year of trucks have this same case that will work? And are there any other manufactures that also use a case that would work? Also if you have any ideas on where to get one it would be great.

Thanks in advance
Phil

must have been one hell of a wreck to toast the t-case. It depends on if it was ordered with an electric shift or a manual shift as both were options.

the manual is the NP273, tha auto is the NP271, but dont hold me to it since things might have changed since 04.

I can't stand an electric shift transfer case. They're even worse than an auto trans[:'(]
