which intake set up
If you're really frugal (cheap) like me, just get a BHAF (big honking air filter) for about $40. Basically it's a semi truck filter, all you do is remove the stock air box, and put the filter there. It fits right on the original turbo intake hose. The NAPA number is 2790

cool thanks and racer9 i thought about doing that a guy i used to work with just slapped on a k and n liek that on his turbo ...... but my worry was can water get in the turbo easier or anything??? thanks appreciate the help guys
I went with the S&B filter kit it seemed like the closest thing to the Volant kit but alot less. About $200.00 online without cost of shipping or tax (unless you live in CA or FL). They did an airfilter shoot out in Diesel Power magazine but I didn't see who won.
It performs pretty good. The first thing I noticed was the turbo spools up faster and I think my fuel economy would go up If I didn't like hearing the whistle of the turbo. It draws the air from the stock location but the opening is larger than stock. I was thinking of trying to mod up a ram air system similar to the Volant (volant draws air from stock location but also has a optional scoop mounted to the bottom) system but I don't like the idea of the scoop being so low to the ground.
