Default Whats the biggest tire I can put on my '99 2500 4x4

I would bet this has been discussed to death but I am going out on a limb and asking it once more....
I have a 1999 2500 diesel 4x4. Needs new tires and since it looks funny with the tiny 265's, I want to put the biggest tire on without modifications to the suspension. I will be replacing wheels so they are not an issue.... Any sugggestion from experience??

Thanks a million!!!!!

TT

On my 98 2500 I'm runnin 285's ,but from what I've been told you can clear 305. You will need wider rims or else you'll get bad tire wear

I've got a 2000 year 4x4 2500. I run 305/70r16 and get just a bit of rub when craanked hard to the wheel locks, but nothing that causes any problem. I mounted them on the stock 8 inch diameter wheels but run a little less air pressuer to compensate for the "pinching" effect.

I tow a 5th wheel and so far have not had any issues with this setup.

Regards, Glenn
