Default Split dash on 03

The upper dash panel on my 03 Diesel 2500, has just cracked right across the center.
Anybody have any experience on replacing the panel , do the gauges etc need to be removed first, or does it come off from the top ?
Also, anyone know where to source a replacement, as the stealership wants $405 + tax.......ouch
Thanks in advance

WOW that sucks !!

I've heard about this dash cracking thing for quite some time now. Did / DO you take care of your dash or do you just let it go?

Meanng

Do you use some sort of Armor All or something on your dash or are you just a soap and water kinda guy? I use that S-2000 or whatever the heck it is and it does a really good job, but I've always wondered if it was actually protecting the dash, or if the dash cracks are inevetable.

My 01 cracked right down the center. Stayed that way for about 2 years and now the whole thing is starting to look like jig saw puzzle on top.

they make those cool dash covers,, some are fabric, but I've also seen some that are hard plastic that are formed to fit and just glue on top of the old one.
