Fluidampr Dampner
Never seen one on a cummins. I know a few ford guys with them, seemed to smooth the engine out quite a bit. Now you got me thinking of one[:@]. Probably well worth it. I'll have to get one in the future.
I was running a Fuliddamper on my Super Stock until I broke a crank turning about 7,500 on a 1/3 mile dirt track. The post mortem indicated the Fluid D. failed.
I switched to Racing D. that was constructed to indicate when things start to go wrong and have never had a problem after switching.
Considering the Cummins turns between 800 and 3,000 RPM the Fluid D. should be OK. I would check with them and see if they make one specificly for the Cummins Diesel. If it is just a standard dampner machined out to fit a Cummins crankshaft I would stay away from it.
