ATS Intake NEED HELP
Steve05Ram360/anyone have any knowledge of the ATS arc flow intake manifold. I just got an AFE Stage II intake and wanted to know if the ATS intake manifold was worth the 300 bucks? Any help on this would be appreciated. Also any thoughts on the exhaust manifold from ATS.
worth every penny if you ask me... here's what I suggest... order it, put your truck back to stock as much as possible (stock air box, performance box set back to stock) then go find a hill to climb on a hiway or road where you can get it into OD. start at about 45~50 and punch it up the hill... see how fast you can get going until you find a good marker to compare against with the ATS. then go mount the ATS and repeat the test. with a load and everything stock you should feel a difference from 1500 thru 2500 rpms. it'll pull harder w/o a doubt.
For all of those who have the ATS and didnt see much change, most of them have heavily modded trucks so feeling an extra 57 ft lbs of tq is not going to be easy. For me, I put my edge on 0 or 1 (cant remember anymore) and did the install with the stock airbox on and headed off for work... going down a 2 lane back road (little traffic) I came behind a slower car and decided to pass. generally my tranny would want to downshift while passing almost every time. this time it pulled much easier and didnt downshift like I expected... my 1st thought was "hey, never did that before".
Now with the AFE on (loose low end as you know) and the aero turbine with the 30"magnaflow, it almost never downshifts when passing and has a hellofa kick to it when your on it.
as for the e-manifold... cant tell you anything about it. I know my performance parts guy has one and he's happy with it... but then again he's running duals and scooting down the track at 12.5's.
