I just installed my Edge EZ in my 06 Ram. Lots more power but engine now sounds like an older 12 valve diesel with lots of valve rattles. Is this normal?

 

Rattles probably come from increasing the timing

 

I had the edge EZ also ,mine made the same noise edge tech says its the timing advbaced like Jakebrake says ,the other thing it does is boost the fuel pressure . I switched to the Bully dog power pup .

 

Should I be concerned about this? Is it harming my engine? I've only run it on level one and my fuel mileage has increased from 18 to 20 MPG, hand calculated. Thats better than what I was getting with my nissan frontier.

 

too much timeing will harm the engine, but what you are running probably is not harming anything.
