It does wait till the glow plugs heat up, just like putting the key in.
there are no glow plugs on the CTD motor... it has the heater grid. [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

Check AUTOANTHING for your key... www.autoanything.com They might be able to help you with that $200 problem.

my 06 has a grid heater, the wait to start light changed to a thing that looks like a coil laying on its side. I was kind of confused by it at first and had to look it up in the manual to find out what it was. mine doesnt light up durring the light test either the only time it comes on is when the temp outside is cold enough to require it to kick in.

anyway back on topic has anyone priced the remote start offered by DC. it will work with your original key

Bulldog Security Has a model: Deluxe 500, that works with diesels. It has a wire that gets connected to the indicator for the glow plug/grid heater. The site has the installation manual and vehicle specific wiring diagrams for hooking the starter up. It even says it works with the manual trans. Directwholesale.net is the place you can purchase the remote starter from, for $199. I had the same remote starter installed on my 98 Chevy gas truck. I loved it and only paid $80 for it at Sams Club.
