Default Wheels and Tires

I know it has been talked about before, but I am too lazy to try to find it. I have a 06 CTD2500 4X4 and I am in the market for some new 20's with probally Nitto's Grapilers (sp?) I saw a guy that has the same truck as mine and he put some 20's with the Nittos and he did not have a leveling kit or any lift for the matter. The truck looked great and there was clearance all the way around with no rubbing. However, I dont know the tire or wheel width. I know he either had 305' or 315's and I believe they were on a 9 inch wheel....but I dont know if they were 50's 55's pr 60's. Long story short, I am clueless, cant you tell!....furthermore, while I am at it....does anyone know what type of offset I need too?

Take Care and Thanks for any help in advance!

Default RE: Wheels and Tires

I've been looking at wheels and tires also so this is what I've found out. Stock wheel is +40 mm offset with 6.25" backspacing. From what I've gathered you want 5 to 6 inches of back spacing to keep the tires tucked in under the fenders. Most all of the tires I've found that are in the metric sizes are usually 325/60/R20. I'm also adding a 5 inch lift so I'm not worried about rubbing issues with the backspacing too much. If you don't lift it and put the wider tire on I think there will be rubbing at full lock. Could be wrong and someone may chime in to correct me.

305s will fit no problem with no lift. 5" back spacing is what I would go with.

I have heard of some people fitting 315s with little to no rubbing but I know I wouldn't be able to swing it on mine

Had 305-R50/20's on my previous - no rubbing with no lift on a 4x4. They were a little larger diameter than 32's, but not quite 33's. But they did extend past the fender a little - backspacing was 12mm if I remember correctly.

Thanks a Ton Guys!.....I dont really care if they come pass the fenders a inch or so I am just worried about them rubbing on the inside. I am so paranoid because no one around me has these wheels and for the most part they dont have much of a selection period. Therefore, I am going to order them off line or ebay them and I dont want to get screwwed!

Thanks Again!

By the way - what I should have said is the backspacing off-center was 12mm - they rate those by centered being zero, and the positive (or negative) number being the amount it's offset from center.
