Hey Rich,

click the link in my siggy and then go to the custom bumper section, at the bootom of that page you'll see a front bumper with the reciever hitch already mounted and I know for a fact Preston could modify the bumper a touch to give you two other mounting points for shackles or what ever else you want.
I was thinking about it, but I really don't want bumper replacement just to put the winch on. I also don't want all that added weight up front. Not like there isn't a bunch of added weigh already.

Road Armor has a new one that is actually pretty slick......not $1700 slick, but pretty cool none the less.

I'm trying to avoid the whole huge brushguard / bumper monstrosity thing. I don't plan on building this truck up like my last one. Just need functionality vs. total insanity like my 250 was.

Cumminalong,

Are you planning to use a 9.5 winch? I was on Warn's site and the Multi-Mount is only good for winches in the 9.5 or lower class. Isn't a 9.5 way under power for our trucks? I was interested in the M12000, but looks like Warn does not make a Multi-Mount for that size winch.

I have a 9.5ti.

If you think it's underpowered, check this pic out. It's my old truck and it pulled it out just fine.

Yeah, you may have to double line it if you're really buried, but it'll do just fine.

Plus, it doesn't have as much current draw as the larger ones.

When I bought it my main concerns were 1 - being moveable, 2 - being fairly fast, 3 - having enough power.

I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Cumminalong,

Well that is good to know. I was just curious to know if a 9.5 had enough guts for a full-size truck.

Honestly, the portability (for me anyways) far outweighs the raw pull power of the larger ones. A lot of times, if you are stuck, it's easier to pull yourself out threw tracks you've already made behind you, rather than try to pull threw fresh mud in front of you.

See my other thread (Wish I had the camera) why.

If I had a larger, fixed winch I wouldn't have been able to do a damn thing that we did on Sunday morning.

Not that I would have been screwed, but the guys that were stuck would have had a healthy recovery bill.

I use mine all the time to drag logs to the truck to cut them up. Beats the hell out of cutting up sections of a tree and carry it peice by piece to the truck. I just hack off an 8 - 12 ft section and drag it to the truck. Cut it, throw it in, done!

I always tell guys that wanna wheel their truck (other than to buy a beater) to buy a winch before you buy anything else. it doesn't matter how big of tre you get, what lockers you have, how much HP, etc. If you wheel, you will get stuck, then you NEED a winch.
