Anyone know if the 06 has 60lb valve springs for jake brake or does it even need them??

If they don't come in the kit with the Jake Brake you probably don't need them.

I just had the dealer install a jake brake on my 06. all he told me was that both the dealer and cummins will warrenty the jake brake so if there is a problem with the springs then i will take it to one of them and expect them to fix it.

It's not a matter of the springs breaking. You need heavier exhaust valve springs to achieve maximum braking effort form the Jake.

It may only apply to 12 vlave motors.

this only applies to the 12 valve motors. the stock springs were 45 pounders if memory serves me right, all 24 valves have 60 pounders.

Sweet thanks for the reply. i think im goin to instal the brake this weekend if its not rainin,hopefeuly i can get it right the first time.if not you will here me asking for help
