Default Headlight bulb replacement?

Firstly, I picked up a set of headlight replacement bulbs from Costco. Wanted them for backup, but wondered if in fact they would be any better than the stock bulbs in the truck already. Any thoughts?

Secondly, my manual doesn't seem to make mention of how one replaces these bulbs. Anything I can view online for a pictorial on replacing them?

Lastly, I had a buddy highly reccommend a "Racor" fuel filter. Any need for this or is the stock filter, changed regularly all one needs?

Bob

i looked under hood and cant even see bulb sockets. i think u have to remove front 1/4 panels and possibly engine to get at back of housing to change bulbs.i may be wrong. dealer quoted me at $1300 to remove 1/4 panels and to remove engine. I have a 2004.5 dodge ram 2500. any1 else experience the price of this bad engineering design flaw.

should be 4 screws which are accessed from the front of the lense. after removal the whole headlight assembly will come out. then change bulb as with any other dodge product. or you can lay on the ground and acces from underneath.

I changed the bulbs in my 05, pita. but on the airbox side, remove the airbox and you can get to it. not easy but can be done. driver side just have to be flexible there are little threaded pieces that hold them in place. be gentle so you dont break them.

I changed mine out to Sylvania Silver Star Ultras and it made a big difference! I had to remove the Headlamp assembly. Here is the Manual pics

I ended up pulling them out from the front and even then it was a pain but that was because of this moose Insurance pollicy I have.

They are on the outside of the lens. Kind of tight to get into if I rember correctly. Seems like I had to get to it from underneth the front bumper.

Are you joking or did you seriously think you had to do this to change the bulbs
