hhhmmmm. . .waste gate could have stuck open, but the thing would still start. . .crank or cam sensors could be bad, that would be a good place to look.

Fuel filter has been changed twice since the truck has been acting up, with no noticable difference. Wouldnt the cam or cranks sensor show a code of some sort? I still wonder why the lift pump pressure drops when the truck is idled up. 10psi at idle and 0 when idled up.

they should. . .but there is a chance the computer is seeing enough of a signal from them to keep the code from showing up.

I'm not sure how many amps the lift pump is supposed to draw, but I would also check that and see if you may have some bad wireing.

My friend- can't get a hold of him..... had to replace a sensor of some sort. Can't remember what.... but the dealer will possibly know which one when you tell them the symptoms. His would die- have to wait wait wait then start drive some more- die, wait wait wait. As soon as I get a hold of him- he's on the road- I will let you know. UNless you fix it sooner.

it would have nothing to do with the turbo or anything of that sort....i didnt tighten one of the clamps on the turbo to well and it just came off... mine didnt turn off or not run.. it ran fine...did bout 40 or so...so it might have to do with a dirty sensor or dirty engine if it has mudd or dirt in the engine... good luck with the puzzle

Sounds like injectors to me.... loss of power, boost of only 18 (boost is a good indication of how well injectors are performing. Co-worker had similar problem with his 05 1 cylinder not firing (nozzel was plugged) and another pi$$ing fuel (alot of black smoke)
