Default Steering stablizer replacement

I need a suggestion on how to remove the press fit end of the steering stablizer (shock absorber) where it attaches to the steering arm. It is a tapered press fit. I tried a six-inch c-clamp, but can't get a firm enough footing on the round steering bar without it slipping. Is there a speciality tool I need? I'll also post this in the 2nd gen forum.

Thanks, Glenn

i used a 2 prong puller on mine. you can borrow one at Autozone. take the nut off and put the thread end of the puller on the threaded end of the pin and put the claws on the other sideof the rod

Get a can of MAPP gas at home depot, and then cherry the things right up. You can even hit it with the garden hose too immediately after the heat....lol. It will pop right off.

Usually the pickle fork is the preferred choice.

Good luck with your ride.
