2006 Ram Check Gauges Light P2609
Hello all,
This is my first post as I have just joined. I have recieved alot of info reading these forums and hope someone can help me.
I have a 2006 Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 with a 5" Flo Pro exhaust and S&B intake. This morning when I started it, the check gauges light stayed on. I did the key trick and it gave me code P2609. P2609 = Intake Air Heater System Performance, or thats what I found on the internet. I tried the key trick again to confirm and it doesnt give the code again but the light stays on. I am about to go to Autozone to have it read, if it will work. If not I'm taking it to the dealer. Anyone have any advice?

Specifically the code means no voltage drop seen from the air heaters, either the heater solenoid didn't kick on one time, or the PCM didn't see the proper voltage drop after they came on.
That same day I went to Autozone. They got the same code, P2609, and they cleared it for me. It never came on again that day. Today when I started it, it came on again but turned off after about 35 min of driving. It starts fine and runs fine. I havent noticed any difference in the way it runs. The mornings it has done this the temperature was about 15 degrees then about lows 30's today. Could the intake have anyhting to do with it? Or would plugging it in make a difference?
