Trim Piece Removal For CB Install
Hey All,
I picked up a Cobra 75WX CB for Christmas and am ready for the install. Truck is 06 auto. I think I want to mount the CB unit behind a piece of trim that is in front of the floor cup holders. Hard to describe which piece this is. It is a vertical piece that finishes at the floor console. If I feel up and under this piece there is a rectangular cut-out in it. The piece that starts under the cig lighter and 12v acc outlet. Does that description get anyboby in the ballpark? Sorry for the possibly poor description. Anyway, I tinkered around last night with a screwdriver blade trying to pry it out. It does show quite a bit of flex, but so far it won't give up it's hold. Of course I am trying to get this piece out without leaving marks. Any tricks you all know to get this piece off? Will I maybe have to remove the floor console first? I hope not......
Thanks,

Brent 13, I know what you are talking about due to the fact I was thinking of doing the same. I wonder if thier could be some small screws in the lights that hold the piece in place. Pull the lens off and see if thier is a screw holding the light in place. I have not looked myself but you may wont to check it out.

I know exactly what your talkin bout. The only problem i see is the there is a heater vent that is inside that cutout. Feel up in there its a little smaller than the cutout. But might not affect the cb, idk. Let me know if it works because I am trying to find a place to mount a VHF marine radio.
