the NV5600 is no longer made, and neither are parts. however, your safe. your 06 has the G56, an internaly sourced DC trans.

well than my first statement runs true.

justbe easy on the shifts and use the clutch when shifting to save the syncros. change the fluid ~30K with some good quality fluid (Amsoil 5w30-MTF) and it will last a long time.

I don't think that the parts will ever run out, its not like they were a rare production. I thought that GM used a similar version of that transmission. The G56 is built by Getrag which builds transmissions for Mercedes Benz. They have been good so far.

you can still find master rebuild kits for the NV5600. with the grinding it soulds kike you were trying to race a few times to manychangeing the fluid may help smooth things out.

GM used the NV4500HD for a while, the only thing the 4500 and the 5600 have in common are a few of the gears, past that they are VERY different. the 4500 uses gear oil, the 5600 uses 5w30.
