Default electric fans

thinking about doing an electric fan conversion on my CTD. is this safe? does the stock clutch fan rob quite a bit of power? will elect. fans be quieter than the stock fan? give me some input/feedback on this.

thanks guys

duramax guys did this mod and found that they were overheating under heavy load. with them having an 8 cylinder vs your 6 cylinder, if you used their fan setup you might be alright. I've contemplated this mod myself and have determined that the stock setup is the best way to go for now. I do plan on adding an aux pusher fan to help remove any heat soaking that might be going on in stop & go traffic.

I dont think there would be any gains... the fan is already an e-fan... at least on my truck it is, not 100% sure on yours, you'd have to have a look at it.
