Ok, Time For Gauges
Hello All,
I am inquring as to the complexity of gauge installation. I received today my boost and trans temp gauge. I will order the EGT in a couple days. I couldn't swallow the cost of all three at once. They are the Isspro gauges. I will be mounting in a triple pod pillar mount. The hooking up to power and ground and dimmer doesn't have me real concerned as Geno's was kind enough to send some detailed instructions. It's the drilling and tapping the exhaust manifold and trans pan that has me concerned. How difficult is this install? Have any of you mounted your gauges and hooked up power and ground, routed the sensors, and then taken your truck to a shop to have holes drilled and tapped? If so, how much would this likey run in cost? I have wired lights, intalled winches, hell, even fabbed up a rear bumper once, so I feel I am fairly handy. But drilling and tapping holes would be new to me, at least on this scale. What say you all? Jump in and go for it, or install as stated above and then have a shop drill and tap for the trans and EGT? I would appreciate and advice or tips you might have.
Thanks,

Thanks,
The EGT I think your gonna hafta tap into the manifold, but I believe you can do a tee fitting in one of the trans lines for the trans temp gauge.
Don't take my word for it, I just thought I remembered reading that at one time or another. I believe it was the trans return line if I remember right.
Don't be scared ...

Here's the tranny line that you are looking for.

Already has the fitting, so you don't have to tap your pan.
