Suspension bushings on '96 2500
I just purchased a '96 2500 CTD from my father-in-law who bought it new... 233,000 miles and still running great and strong. I'm looking forward to putting the next 233k on it. Big upgrade from my '98 F150!
With the miles it's traveled, it needs some rehab work. It's definitely been used and worked hard, but not abused. I've just replaced the track bar and I've got a new set of tie rods and other steering components to put on, and tires and so forth are coming soon. New clutch, too.
Now to the reason for my post... I really need to replace most (if not all) of the suspension bushings. Couple of questions here:
1) Poly or rubber? Rubber would give me a slightly smoother ride, but poly would last longer and firm it up some, right? Too firm, perhaps? At this mileage, am I shortening the lifespan of the frame by going poly? I figure the engine will outlast everything else anyway.
2) Anyone know of a good supplier for complete bushing kits?
Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions...
