Default Vacuum Pump Gasket Leak

I have an '02 Ram 2500 5.9 high output. The dealership told me the vacuum pump gasket is leaking and quoted $500. Has anyone replaced their own vacuum pump gasket or found that it could be something else?

It is the one between the power steering unit and the front face of the motor.

Not sure how diff that one is to my 2000 but you have the front gasket on the block to the vacume pump and all of the seals in the vacume pump. Then you have the vacume pump and the ps pump if that is the same it was not bad. I had to replace all the seals in my vacume pump so i did need to pull out the intire assambly. Their is a guy that saved me his name is Peter at www.fixnrams.com that sold me a kit or sould i say GAVE me a kit after a made a big and almost coastly mistaske with my vacume pump. Try him tell him Jay from Littleton Co refered you great guy can answer any questions..

This guy sells a kit for $69. I bought one and did it in about an hour and 45 minutes. It comes with tools and a video that show you how. Don't let the dealer bend you over for $500. It is really easy to do.
