Default "53" Block?

I checked the other forums and no luck. What year(s) were the 53 block used?The block that had the cracking issue. Thanks

1999-2000 were the the code 53 blocks that were prone to crackingon the passenger side rear.

Some first gens also had 53 blocks but did not have the cracking issues

and another 6 year old thread...

lots of miss information here as well.

there were 53's in 98 second gens. first gens never had a 53.

first gen was 89-93 with the VE pumped 12v
second gen 12v was 94-98 with the p7100 pump
second gen 24v was 98.5-02 with the vp44 pump

as for the 53 in 99-00 being the only ones that crack...wrong! 98's have cracked, 01's have cracked, and even 55 blocks have cracked.

btw my 53 block has 239k miles on it with 576hp 1285tq at the rear wheels, and still remains uncracked
